Carding Mill  Attractions   Home

The Codroy Valley Carding Mill was in operation from 1893 until 1965. It was built and operated by Mr. Alexander Gale. When Mr. Gale retired in the early 1940's he turned the mill over to his two sons George and Ned.

In the early 1900s the mill was booming, on a regular day the mill would open at 8am and close at suppertime everyday except Sunday. Because the mill played a big part in the heritage and culture of our area, the Codroy Valley Area Development Association restored the old building and equipment and opened it to the public as a working museum.
